The debut of the pilot news program Việt Nam Online was made on April 25 in Hà Nội. In September 2007, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng ordered the Government Website (currently the Government e-Portal) to work with the Việt Nam Multimedia Corporation (VTC) to produce and publish the Việt Nam Online show. The program, a multimedia product, will be broadcast on www.chinhphu.vn and VTC5 Channel, focusing on news on activities of leaders and the performance of the Government and the PM; guiding the implementation of new policies; and receiving feedbacks and opinions from people to State bodies at all echelons.

Minister, Chairman of the Government Office Nguyễn Xuân Phúc stressed that the run of Việt Nam Online is an active move to realize the PM’s directions in meeting the information demands of people and business community to promote the country’s socio-economic development.

According to Minister of Information and Communications Lê Doãn Hợp, under the trend of internationally economic integration, Việt Nam has to ensure the two-way information exchange between the Government and people. “Việt Nam Online will be an important channel for the above requirements,” he said.

Ministers Nguyễn Xuân Phúc and Lê Doãn Hợp witnessed the signing of the Regulations on jointly producing and publishing Việt Nam Online program between the VNGOP and the VTC.
