26/06/2006 – 07:07:09 AM

VNGOP- At the PM’s Decision 83/2008/QĐ-TTg issued on June 25, the Government Portal is in charge of various duties, including organizing, managing and publishing official information, functioning as the hub for the Government’s online administrative information network, and integrating public e-services.

PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng meets VGP’s editorial board on the Việt Nam Revolutionary Journalism Day on June 21, 2008

The agency, with official English name of the Vietnam Government Web Portal (VGP), will be directly managed by the Minister, Chairman of the Government Office.

VGP will undertake 19 different functions and obligations, including organizing, managing and publishing official information, functioning as the hub for the Government’s online administrative information network, and integrating public e-services.

VGP will also standardize software programs, exploit national information resources, and link websites and portals together to form an integrated online information system.

In addition, VGP is entrusted to hold online meetings, dialogues and teleconferences between the Government, the PM, ministries, local authorities, relevant organizations and people.

It will be the receiver of complaints, accusations, claims from individuals and organizations sent to the Government, the PM, and the Government Office, then delivering directly to competent bodies for solution.

VGP is assigned to diversify contents, activities and multi-media products to enhance the dissemination of the Party's guidelines, State's laws, social-economic situations, local and international news.

VGP has representative offices in Hồ Chí Minh City, Đà Nẵng and Cần Thơ.
